Bloomin' Right I found something!

Now I would just like to say that I have been very studious and have done my research. If Sophie is looking for a portable garden for the feet then I have a veritable treat in store......Mr Kirkwood has teamed up with Liberty and made these beauties from the Liberty print archive. Aren't they just amazing!?
I hope this satisfies your lust for flower power footwear. Now all we need to do if find a bag of money lying on the floor and we're all set...

chelsea flower show shoes...

Yesterday I went to Chelsea Flower Market for the first time, and then this morning I saw Andy Sturgens winning garden at Chelsea flower show, which is just lovely. And florals and faunas are lovely aren't they?

Nope. not when people try to stick em' on a shoe.

Guilty one Irregular Choice Toodle Loo Floral Rosette High Heel. Infact when trying to find a lovely floral shoe to go with my lovely floral post, I couldn't find ANYTHING I liked. I just kept harking back to these amazing Nike/Libertys collaborations from way back when in 2008 and sadly now out of action.

please re-issue these somebody. I really want gardens on my feet if they're as cool as these!

touch of class

In a desperate bid not to follow the crowd and deliver the same ol' Sex and the City premier pics (the shoes were boresville anyways) I started thinking, what is the antithesis of 'bling' in shoe terms? Beatrix Ong delivers neat, grown up styles season after season. Modern yet timeless and not without a little bit of edge, but definitely not blinging, I like these lacy numbers a lot.

and these winged beauties are quite special, I think they're actually part of the bridal collection.

And I love these with the platform being shown in places between the straps of leather.

fiesta fashion

this post is inspired by our summery and fiesta themed window and our cheeky friday afternoon Corona's, well we had all these extra limes...

If you pop into the boutique over the next week and find a lime in a shoe - that shoe is discounted, and the perfect shoes for a dusty afternoon in mexico (or, umm, Islington...) Robert Clergerie of course!

I love this collaboration with Opening Ceremony, who have done some of my favourite shoes over the last couple of seasons. I'd wear these with little white socks, denim cut - offs and a margarita. have a good weekend y'all.

A Clearly Bemusing Trend

This new trend for plastic accessories has me in a bit of a tizz. Never have I been so undecided on shoes. Do I love them, do I hate them? Argghhhh I don't know!
Plastic, see-through shoes and accessories are...well I don't know....they're a bit ugly aren't they? I know that Michael Kors and Prada have all had a bash at this and despite this I can't escape that niggling voice that says "aren't they like those jelly shoes that you used to wear on the beach?" (please no comments on this. I was forced to wear them).

Undoubtedly they do look better than the horrible jelly shoes from back in the day, but I think they're not for me. Besides they wouldn't do anything to protect me from the hazards of the English seaside, or any pavement for that matter.

I do quite like this Fendi clutch though. Ill put my ice cream money in here. Now all we need is the sun to stick around.

Chanel Resort 2011 Slips the Net

We were all feeling very sheepish today when we realised we had let the Chanel Resort collection slip past us unnoticed. How could we miss something so important?
Especially after last year, where we saw these beautiful nautical numbers. I personally was expecting great things....

But I have to say it was all a little disappointing for shoe lovers this time around. The only thing on offer seemed to be these coral flats. Even the models didn't want to wear them. What a shame. Nice dresses though.

Cannes we just talk about shoes please?

The Cannes Film Festival was a big story on Vogue.com today but we just can't help but be more interested in the news article Poste Haste...A great little post about Laura J London and our range making its way into shoe Boutique du Jour 'PosteMistress'. How very exciting indeed.

If you also think that shoes are more important that films you can see the piece here. Happy reading.

ain't it always the way...

So! you don't even really like gladiator sandals, are they even going to be popular again for a third summer? but for some weird reason you decide to have a little poke around for the perfect pair of summer sandals, in the vain hope that the sun will stay out for a little bit longer then 1 hour every morning. And then you find them, the only pair that will do.And you really want them.

And they're Azzedine Alaia. And they're 1,180 squids.

If you fancy a pair of these beauties you can log onto http://www.laurajlondon.com/ (lipstick socks not included).

Shoes'election

Now I don't want to get into a political debate here. Already it seems the claws are out over the impending election results so I will keep it simple and shoe focused.

What shoes to wear to support your party you ask? I have selected some of my favourites in party colours to dazzle the opposition...here goes...

If you're going to/have voted Labour then you obviously are going to want to slip into these Marc Jacobs beauties

Now if you feel like sitting in the middle then why not make these Proenza Schouler platforms your footwear of choice? And my personal faves, though read nothing into political persuasion, are these amazing Alexander McQueen peeptoe ankle boots. Surely buying these can only mean one thing...a majority for non-conservative dressing. Amen.

Confused Fashion

Here at Laura J we are all so on trend...sadly by this I mean that we are all sporting the AW10 catwalk "socks and cut-out shoes-combo". What is with the weather? Weren't we supposed to have April showers? But no, April was glorious so we all packed away our winter garb in hope that the cold was so passé. So now with the current meteorological disturbances we are all forced to take a leaf out of the Book of Prada AW10 and are donning our socks.

Does it count as "on trend" if the socks are covered in cutesy patterns? So far this week we have seen owl socks, lipstick socks and heart socks. Fashionistas watch out, here at Laura J we take the trends and rework them (maybe not always the best thing to do)?
