Gaaaawin' to the chapel and we're gaaaain' get maaaaaaried

that subject header is meant to be sung really loud in a mockney accent, I don't know why. It just does.
I went and got my marriage licence from Hackney council today, turns out me and my beau aren't related so its on with the show! Which proms the question - good bridal footwear. I went way over my budget with the dress and the plan was to splash out on some designer shoes, This is what I, personally think would look super dooper peeking out of a little oyster silk...

top of the list and coming in at a fairly reasonable £380, I luuuurve these by my mui mui.

I am also seriously considering brogues, but they have to be PUUURFECT brogues, like these church's at £210, not for everybody, but they would look amazing with a vintage dress or an english tea party style, plus the future mr sophie is only about 1 inch taller then me so...

I really like these people. Christian Louboutin £370, I think its the matt soft laces against the glossy, glossy matallic, a weird hybrid of twenties tennis shoes and disco. Love em.

so yes. thats what i'll be getting if I decide to splash some (more) cash, if you've got a bigger budget, Louboutin are always pure, unadulturated glamour and really are special occasion shoes, If you've got the dosh (£1,250 ) I recommend picking up these vintage inspired beauties,

or these givenchy's are pretty sexy..
personally i'd rather spend the money on the bar. So if I don't go designer, heres some other, more purse friendly options..

top two by Kurt Geiger, bottom two by Office, fun and silly, I think it's a bit more interesting to have a pop of colour kicking out from under the hem - but then again, i'm all about the shoes...

Have a great bank holiday weekend peeps! S.x

house of harlow shoes...

... are surprising good.

I love these ones, available here for £195 the python looks butter soft and my thirst for dusty pinky nudes is fairly satisfied also. I'm not exactly Nicole Richie's biggest fan, being a brat and rudeness are qualities that least endeavor me to a person (surprisingly does any one like these qualities?) although maybe she's mellowed since that horrible TV show. I'm certainly not a fan of her LA boho look of HUGE sunnies and MAH-HOOSIVE bag, but yes, impressive accessories line Richie. well done.

Don't step on my blue suede shoes....

Just had a very lovely Lady in the boutique who was wearing her Laura J London Mary shoes from SS09 and she loved how comfortable they were. Well all I can say is if you can walk on Islington cobbles in 4 inch spike heels you are a trooper! You go girl!

Always great to see a happy customer.

plastic dreams

you know how it is? you're surfing the web for shoes to go with your Genesh mask for The Last Tuesday Society's Grand Masked Ball next month...

and you come across these old favorites that are great, but a little bit 'everywhere', not too sure of the colour either...

then you remember the other really good Vivienne Westwood for Melissa beauties you spotted a while ago and decide ooh - I actually really like them...
soon you're like a Alice falling down a plastic hole in ASOS wonderland...

AND THEN YOU SPOT THESE AMAZING NEW STYLES AND DECIDE TO MAKE IT YOUR LIFES MISSION TO GET THEM ON YOUR FEET...I NEED THESE FOR SUMMER PEOPLE...

...and i'm spent. no more looking at jelly shoes for a little while methinks. S.x

Alternative fashion week! That doens't even cover it.

I have spent the day playing at being Laura J London's "reporter in the field" and have nabbed front row at AFW (which really should be known as Awful Footwear Week; So many girls stumbling down that catwalk with ill-fitting cheap shoes, with stickers still on the bottom...come on people!)
But anyway, I suppose it's not always about shoes (okay in my world it is), so I should post some pics of the clothes....There were the good(ish) the bad and the damn right UGLY! Let's have a look in that order shall we?!

The Good

Folds of black fabric from Newham College

Curve enhancing with Laura Panter

The Bad
(a collection taking a little too much inspiration from Transformers)

And the damn right Ugly

English heritage may be chic but pasty white pins in frayed white socks...sorry Lara Fox but that is never a good look.

building block heels

I'm pretty faithful to my wedges, and up until now there has never really been a contender for my affections and hard earned cash. I like my shoes CHUNKY! but seeing these on Jaeger shoes on shoewawa this morning made my heart skip a beat.

chunky but with elegance, the platformless front that so usually accompanies this style is missing giving this style an up to the date edge. They remind me of a pair of (friend of the boutique) Kat Maconie shoes that I fell in love with recently and have been meaning to blog about for ages...

aahh. aren't they lovely. simple but pretty perfect, I love the gold stud detail. S.x

superbad!

Me and vicky are a little bit over excited at the new Iron Man film coming out soon and following on from vickys excellent new blog The Rogue Pharmacy where she details the modern superheroine footwear of choice, I thought maybe we could take a little look at super baddy's. All together now, boooo, hissss. Gotta start with the queen of gothic super strength weirdness, catwoman.

rick owens methinks for the modern pussycat

I think I remember invisible girl being a little bit naughty? goody or baddy, she would totally rock these chandelier sandals from prada and still lose none of her incognito...

and look at this scary lady, gave superman a run for his money apparently...

I think these Laura J London boots would look pretty badass on her...

super! s.x

Kitten Hell!

Okay so I know it's "totally hot right now" (insert fake smile) to wear kitten heels but on this one I have to put my heeled foot down.

I would rather fall off my ridiculous heels breaking every "not-on-trend" bone in my body than wear the spike kitten heel.

I mean, Marni. Come on what is going on with these?

And Missoni's wooden kitten heels...I just can't...please Oh please let this be a fleeting trend.

I think I will have to stick to my love of leg breakers for now....bring on the platforms.

mirror mirror on the wall, who does the best wedges of them all...?

... Jeffrey Campbell silly! feast your eyes on these doorstoppers.

yum, lovely bit of eyecandy, Its a bit weird that he's ripped of these amazing acne wedges though? as modelled on the lovely miss chung...

It's fair game for topshop to have a go, but I thought 'proper' designers weren't really meant to do that, surely its a bit embarrassing to copy others?
