um... hello united nude!

Whats happened to United Nude? its S/S 10 collection is so brilliant! i've always kinda hated them especially their famed style the eamz...

the heel is just too kooky they smack of gimmick, inspired by the eames chair, (why did they add the 'z' ? to be more yooof ?) I imagine the people that buy these describe themselves as 'wacky'. ANYWAY! enough with the slating because all is forgiven as I want so many pairs for my wardrobe, especially this one, the heel on the Stealth Four Strap is architectural and modern and has beautiful form without looking like a door stop,

similarly with these 'Frames' - unusual without being gimmicky, they're so beautiful

These green Stealth Helix would be perfect for knocking about on a holiday

So yes! well done United Nude! I love you!

stars of the show

so, we had the 'big drop' last week, and I thought i'd wait a little while to introduce all the spring stock to see what was the most well received, and the great London public has voted. Lets start with my personal faves...

introducing the 'Mortise' - so flippin' coooool! I love the zip detail and the black is going to look fab giving a floral dress some edge in the Summer. The blue has actually sold better which is great, I think people are just dying for a bit of sun and are putting their most optimistic foot forward.

these have also been flying out of the boutique 'the Frame' i'm just waiting for my legs to get used to fresh air after a long winter in jeans and tights before I get these bad boys anywhere near my pins, then I reckon I'll wear them with everything. The mortise is now also sold in Poste Mistress as well as the Islington Boutique

A Hoodie too Far

Okay so Selfridges Wonder Room Concept store is soon to bring in these new Barbies called "So in Style" Barbies.
Now if I were a doll collector, which I'm not, these hoodie wearing ladies wouldn't even feature on my fashion radar....BUT there is one Barbie that holds a special place in my non-collectors heart and that is the amazing Louboutin Cat Burglar Barbie which comes with little pairs of Louboutin shoes and tiny shoe boxes WITH dust bags...now that is my kind of style...

good mood shoes

It's been a tough ol' day at the shop, with a massive delivery of S/S 10 Laura J London shoes and one missing box, we have to wonder, what shoes would put you in that good, Friday night mood? For me, its these stripper shoes from my new favorite website eveningladies.co.uk. It is THE BEST for silly, silly shoes and I want about 5 pairs, behold - the bordello teeze in purple which i'm going to get for my brother-in-law's wedding next month...

So tacky and so absolutely delightful. I found them when I spotted them on Paloma Faith who is also silly and brilliant, she has a brilliant look and she's currently on the stereo cheering us up as we speak.

she's rocking this classic stripper/goth style in white here, which coincidentally is also on the list for a more, ahem, everyday look?

silly.

WTF Fashion!

i'm sorry Muiccia Prada. I look forward to Miu Miu all season, and the clothes are beautiful but WTF was the thinking behind these! it is very rare that i don't get it but these shoes are just so W.R.O.N.G.

is it me but they look so dated, really nineties

Arrrrghhhh! my eyes are burning!

and Chanel? you too.

one picture will sum up everything I hate about these. karl... NO!

divine deco decadence

check out these brilliantly bonkers styles from Balenciagia. I'm sure 'brilliantly bonkers' as a description would send a certain Mr Ghesquière 'brilliantly bonkers' seeing as he is one of the most thoughtful and considered designers around, but there it is...

they remind me of beautiful pastel Miami landscapes

which I think is why they also bring to mind Holly Fulton's AMAZING first collection at Fashion East which I was very lucky to see first hand, and was inspired by architecture and the Empire State Building

Laura J London's designers were actually also inspired by architecture for S/S with each shoe being named after an architectural discipline

This white 'Frame' boot is on my wish list and is expected in this week - woop!

oscar babes

were few and far between this year i'm afraid - everyone is too scared of bloggers and a cyberspace bashing to do a 'Cher'

which maybe explains why, although this armarni dress is pretty gross, I don't hate jenny from the block for giving OTT oscar glamour a go, you know...

likewise the blue goddess from Avatar, zoe saldana, who pulls off OTT considerably better in Givenchy...

Carey Mulligan looked very cool I thought in a simple (boring) prada dress that was made exceptional with the gamine crop interesting neckline and modern shoes...

but the top oscar babe from last night in my humble opinion was Tom Ford wearing Topman, no wait, sorry my mistake, wearing Tom Ford. obviously.

nude - tastic

oh hi, yeah, I'm really into nude this season, and the whole chiffon underwear as outerwear thing, what's that? wedges you say? nude chiffon strap wedges? wrap em' to go.

strict shoes

oh dear, its the same thing every season, we look forward to the pretty pastels hitting the shops in spring but we're already looking ahead and making 'winter wants' lists. (this extends to the new Laura J London collections, already can't wait for those styles to come in the boutique - 6 long months ahead) I think i'm going to opt for a very strict future goth look personally...

how brilliant are these shoes from Belle Sauvage, I think they may be atlanta weller but just guessing, and gazza sends out another brilliant collection this week - these boots are dominatrix ace!

to clog or not to clog?

It was this months vogue cover that did it, and the effortlessly cool Alexa Chung... Clogs. Another new fad that I had previously rebuffed and now desperately needed (see gladiator sandals, harem trousers and even, many moons ago - leggings)

yup, it takes me a while to come round to things, still, S/S 10's hottest footwear trend is still a little iffy, beware going 100% authentic 1970's Swedish Liberian with these Swedish Hasbeens
they just have nothing remotely SEX about them do they? these styles from Aldo are the most wearable and quite cute me-thinks...

unlike these louis vuitton things...

the kitten heel on those makes me want to scratch my eyes out, river island have borrowed from vuitton and given they're clogs a little Essex spin which I actually quite like, tack attack n' all...

(thanks to disneyrollergirl for the pic - not her cup of tea natch!)

if I had all the money in the whole wide world i'd book a holiday and rush out and buy these for the trip, from Mui Mui... and probably the original Chanel ones that started the whole damn thing in the first place.
