True Blue...

We love all kinds of blue here at the boutique and each season we manage to integrate it into our collections, stylish and a subtle contrast to black it can be worn with most colours and should be loved by all .

I know we have shouted about our Winifred Riding boots before but we could not resist to show them to you again, the blue and black are so luxurious...and we have just had a new delivery so ladies what are you waiting for!

Winter white is the way to go this December...

After our first spread of snow last week it has not only has prompted to reach for our fur hats and coats but given us the urge to get some winter white in the wardrobe, what better way as well to get advice on how work this into your look than asking Radiant Hour Style consultancy on how to do just that, if you have not yet heard we are hosting an event this Thursday from 7.30pm if you would like to join us so do RSVP if you are interested on joining us.

Johanna Barclay runs 'The Radiant Hour' - a personalized fashion consultancy service that's designed to make you "Remember a time when you knew you looked fabulous? You had the perfect outfit, your hair behaved impeccably and your make-up went on like a dream. I bet you felt amazing and people commented on how you lit up the room when you walked in. Sometimes things just fall into place right?" Well, this feeling is what Johanna calls "The Radiant Hour".

Rather than focusing solely on fashion, Johanna chooses to talk and advise on personal style and how to accentuate our best features. A collaboration of Angels best loved boutiques have pulled together to host an angel-centric evening of drinks, nibbles, fashion & fun with a style consultancy talk from Johanna herself and on hand advice from the boutique shoe experts at LauraJ!

Feathers..feathers everywhere!

So feathers on shoes? not the natural choice for hot footing around the streets of London but if you have a cab on stand by and a special event to attend then these Nicholas Kirkwood masterpieces could be the perfect option....

We've gone all feathery at the boutique this Christmas..we have them in the window...on the shelves and even on our fabulous chest of drawers hand illustrated by illustrator Sophie Stephens

so whether on shoes, furniture or simply for display feathers are the perfect alternative to all things bright and sparkly ..well we think so anyway! LJ x

What's up pussycat?

Kitten heels have made a rather ladylike re-appearance for AW 2010! Comfortable, tres chic and wearable with all of this seasons looks - we couldn't be happier about the return of the kitten as it means we can be right on trend whilst on the go!

We've fallen head over (kitten) heels about the Stella Mcartney collection of elegant and wearable fashions, including a fine collection of cute kitten heels to go with! Seen all over the catwalks and the feet of the fashion industry - we salute you Stella!

But more so...we've fallen in love with our very own LauraJ London collection that is arriving as I type!! Victorian-esque lace up courts and boots, must have knee high's with clever colour panels and our signature style of feminine yet functional footwear....our new collection has them all in a beautiful range of Autumn colours...

Here at Laura J we've been ”ooh'ing” and ”aah'ing” over 'The Super Star Issue' of Vogue - sparkly, stylish and undeniably glamorous the pages are a treasure chest of all things 'bling'! It is, after all, nearly party season...no better excuse to buy a new sequined number, a pair of killer heels and show everyone at the office party just who you really are!

UGG vs Snowjogger

Autumn is definitely here (booo!)...Rain, wind and a drop in temperature has got us LauraJ ladies debating what we'll be wearing this Autumn Winter to keep our tootsies snug and toastie!

UGG have teamed up with Jimmy Choo to design a limited edition collection this season. Studded, tassled, knitted...you name it, Jimmy Choo and UGG have done it!

However, it appears they may have some competition in the 'must have' winter warmer department. Snowjogger are the design on everyone's lips (and feet!) and are going down a storm in LA amongst the fashionista's! We love the range of colours and styles from Snowjogger, and the rather lower price tag than the Jimmy Choo UGG's make them even more appealing.


So...UGG vs Snowjogger? At LauraJ London, Snowjogger gets our vote. In fact, we love them so much that we've got three gorgeous finishes coming in to the boutique in November! Oooooh, we can't wait!!

Head to the hills in Hunter

After a fantastic trip to Bestival this weekend I have fallen in love with these metallic gold wellies by Hunter...fantastic festival accessory for looking glamorous whilst knee deep in mud! If you think the gold bling is a bit much though there is always the black moc croc look for those of us wanting to be a little more subtle!

The Trunk Show

Are you sick of everyone having the same high street clobber? Fancy the Big C? (Customisation that is)...well I think that London based company Selve may be just the ticket. I hear on the old footwear grape vine that they are doing one of their infamous Trunk Shows at the Boundary Hotel, something that you definitely need to check out if you fancy some heels that you practically design yourself. Now I have been having a little look at their website and there are some great shapes coming out for Autumn Winter including these very on-trend boots.....

Oh and did I mention that you can even customise the sole? Erm...Louboutin-esque red anyone? I thought so.

The Trunk Show, where you can customise to your hearts content starts on Monday the 20th to Tuesday the 21st at the Boundary Hotel.

Don't laugh, it's green!

We have decided to go green here at Laura J and in doing so we have made the decision to pull the plug on our gorgeous purple bags in favour of something a little more earth loving. After much deliberation we settled on a white bag with Laura J London across the front in pink...much lighter, smaller and recyclable. Score. Then the other day I had to take a picture of one of our regulars out in the rain doing her bit to recycle the bag...not exactly what we had in mind, but it did make us giggle. If only all environmentally friendly projects were this amusing.

A journey to Atlanta

This week i've been looking at the graphic shoe stylings of Atlanta Weller. And man are they something! LFW is just round the corner and Atlanta is showing her SS11 collection. I'm intrigued to see the new designs as they are supposedly inspired by dominos and Logan's Run....erm, can't quite imagine what this will be like...space ages spots...too literal? This is why i'm not a designer. In any case I thought I'd post some of the amazing AW designs by the ever talented Miss Weller because they are too, dare I say it, "fierce" not to post...enjoy! x V

Carrrnival!!!

It's almost carnival time! To celebrate we have just put in a fitting window display for the end of the sale. Time to dance in the arrival of all the new AW stock. Yipee.

The Rainbow of Olympia

I have been browsing the Charlotte Olympia AW10 collection this week and I LOVE them...But there is one problem... I don't think it's possible to pick just one colour. Okay well if you twist my arm I suppose I could be forced to choose the emerald green pair.

Now whilst I was searching for them I found out a little fact that I suppose I should already know...the new Charlotte Olympia boutique on Maddox Street not only sells these rainbow beauties but also I hear that the door handles of the shop have been designed by no other than the king of all awesome jewellery Mr Dominic Jones! Mental note...must pay the new shop a little visit.
